NAIROBI, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) -- The following are the news highlights in Kenyan media outlets on Thursday.

-- As detectives moved in yesterday to interrogate officials of Kerio Valley Development Authority on two phantom dam projects that have cost the taxpayer 21 billion shillings so far, two cabinet secretaries, whose ministries are embroiled in the saga, were busy pointing accusing fingers at their predecessors as the blame-game and Cabinet fallout began in earnest. -- Universities can only increase tuition fees after consultations with stakeholders, Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohamed has said.

But Amina appeared to support the fees hike when she noted that universities were facing serious financial challenges, which would result in a crisis if not addressed on time. (Standard)

-- Special Crimes Prevention Unit police officers yesterday seized 32.6 billion shillings in fake currencies and 70 kg fake gold in Ruiru.

They raided a house in Kwihota village, Gatong'ora location, and picked up two suspects. The officers had been tracking their conversations. The suspects were to meet at a mall along Thika Road. (Star) Enditem
