BEIRUT, Jan. 8 (Xinhua) -- Cipriano Cassama, president of the National People's Assembly of Guinea-Bissau, on Tuesday pledged to offer all kinds of help for the Lebanese who wish to invest in his country.

"Guinea-Bissau has a promising future, and we want to share with the Lebanese this future, so we will give all the guarantees and facilities including taxes and customs exemptions to those who wish to invest in our country," he was quoted as saying by the National News Agency.

Cassama's remarks came during his meeting with Mohamed Choucair, head of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture in Beirut, in the presence of a number of Lebanese businessmen.

Cassama called on Lebanese businessmen to invest in his country, citing that "Guinea-Bissau is rich in natural resources, such as oil that has not be invested in, as well as phosphate, gold, cement and other fields."

For his part, Choucair said that Lebanon has many promising investment opportunities especially in infrastructure and oil and gas projects.

"Lebanon has also products that meet the highest international standards and can cover many of the needs of Guinea-Bissau," he said.

Also on Tuesday, Cassama met with Lebanese President Michel Aoun, House Speaker Nabih Berri and Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri, for talks on promoting economic cooperation between the two countries.
