MADRID, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Growth forecasts of international bodies are "aligned with those of the government", Spain's Minister of Economy and Enterprise Nadia Calvino said on Wednesday.

During her speech at the Congress of Deputies, Calvino said the forecasts of the European Commission and the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) were "aligned with those of the government".

Both organizations expected Spain to have a "robust" growth that exceeds the EU average and is only 0.1 percentage point lower than the forecast of the Spanish government.

In addition, both institutions "agree that the Budgetary Plan contemplates a reduction of the public deficit".

"In both cases, these are much higher reductions than those of other large EU economies," the Economy Ministry said in a statement.

The OECD revised down its growth economic forecasts for Spain, which will grow by 2.6 percent this year and by 2.2 percent in 2019. In 2020, the Spanish economy will grow by 1.9 percent.

The European Commission warned on Wednesday that the draft of the 2019 General State Budget faced certain risks.

The draft "is found to be at risk of non-compliance with the Stability and Growth Pact in 2019", it said.

"Spain's headline deficit is projected to fall below 3 percent next year" the European Commission explained.

"The country is set to exit the Excessive Deficit Procedure, which means that Spain would become subject to the preventive arm of the Pact as of next year," it said.
