YANGON, Oct. 22 (Xinhua) -- Myanmar's parliament will resume its 10th session on Nov. 12, said an announcement of the parliament published Monday.

The sessions of both House of Representatives (lower house) and House of Nationalities (upper house) will separately reconvene on the day before the bicameral Union Parliament session in the afternoon.

The resumed sessions will also come nine days after a by-election on Nov. 3 to fill 13 vacant seats in the parliament.

The previous 9th parliament session concluded on Sept. 19 with a detailed report on the current work of the government related to political. economic and social development and the peace process presented by Minister of the Office of the State Counselor U Kyaw Tint Swe.

During its 9th session, which lasted from July 23 to Sept. 19, the parliament, besides approving the National Planning Bill and the Union Budget Bill, also appointed the governor of the Central Bank and sought approval for Part II of the Union Accord from the 21st Century Panglong Peace Conference.

In addition, the session also approved the forest bill and the Union Taxation Bill 2018-19 as well as motions to accept a soft loan of 30 million euros (about 40 million U.S. dollars) from Italy to implement agricultural projects, a loan of 298.9 million U.S. dollars from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) to be used in implementing power supply network project, a loan of 8.984 million U.S. dollars from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD) and a loan of 61.816 million dollars from the Economic Development Cooperation Fund (EDCF).

Moreover, the parliament also approved the join-in signing of treaty on non-proliferation of nuclear weapons.

The current parliament was formed after the general election in November 2015 and is dominated by the winning National League for Democracy (NLD) party.
