MEXICO CITY, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Xi Jinping delivered a "very accurate" keynote speech on Tuesday, at the opening of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, a Mexican expert said.

"It was very accurate about our time and the changes taking place in the international system ... it set a precedent," said Raquel Leon de la Rosa, a professor at the Meritorious Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP), in central Mexico.

The speech also "marked the moment we were all waiting for -- establishing a position on protectionism," at a time when the world is concerned that the United States may embrace protectionist policies, said De la Rosa.

In his address, Xi called for joint efforts to chart the course of economic globalization and forge new models of global growth, cooperation, governance and development, the expert said.

Xi delivered the important message that blaming globalization for the world's problems is inconsistent with reality, and it will not help solve the problems, noted De la Rosa.

The expert underscored Xi's call for making globalization more invigorated, more inclusive and more sustainable to drive world economic growth.

De la Rosa said that for the task to be successful, more countries need to join the cause.
